Tom Moran’s latest album “Ain’t Gonna Give Up!” is much more than just a new album for Tom Moran. It marks an entirely new beginning for him and his career in the country and rock-n-roll music industry!
Tom Moran did not come up on the easy side of the road by any means. There have been many challenges and hard times in the life of this talented singer and songwriter. Challenges with alcoholism, divorce, rejection and the struggles of being a single parent have all made him into the man he is and given him the ability to create the music he does. Through it all, Tom Moran has not only survived but he has succeeded! With many comparing his voice, lyrical content and production to such mega hit-makers as John Mellencamp, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, Tom Moran is now ushering in his very own style of country & rock-n-roll music. His personal struggles with overcoming challenges have given way to his completely new outlook on life. He says it has rekindled a musical fire that burns deep within him.
Born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Tom grew up always loving music. But with no formal musical training he, quite often, found it difficult to express himself. It was not until his older sister Kathy and Uncle Charlie taught him the basics of strumming simple chords on a guitar that he was able to harness his musical talents. He recalls, “I was 18 yrs. old and I would take my guitar and my small radio out to the Coney Island boardwalk and practice all day long. I would always make sure not to sit too close to anyone who could hear how bad I really was.” He laughs. “I’d just sit there and play until the sun went down.”
Tom definitely credits his musical roots to his early days of listening to the radio on the boardwalk at Coney Island. He says he was influenced by the sounds of artists like: John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Bobby Darin, and Johnny Cash. He attributes his blues and gospel roots to many of the small gospel churches he frequented in his neighborhood as a child.
At 18, Tom’s escape was his music. However, just as he was about to graduate high school, Tom found, what he thought was another escape. He began attempting to escape by drinking alcohol daily. Pretty soon, Tom’s casual drinking would turn into an all-out addiction that would begin to consume his life. After graduating high school, Tom found himself in college & addicted to alcohol.
Born to an alcoholic father, Tom says he recalls, first hand, the effects of alcohol on a person and their family. Determined not to go down the same road, Tom knew he had to take drastic measures. So, he sought help through a recovery program designed for people like himself. He says he is so thankful because it helped him get sober and it saved his life.
“I have been clean and sober for over 19 years now!” 
He exclaims proudly. He was also able to obtain his undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Education from Brooklyn College and has been a New York City Public School teacher for over 12 years. He also finds time to volunteer as a community leader helping others who are struggling with addictions.

His first album, “Starting Over”, was a tribute to the power of sobriety and second chances. Songs such as "Help Me Baby," "Into The Sun," "I Would Drink," "Small Record Deal," and the title track “Starting Over” are forever engraved in our musical memories. They all received excellent local and regional air play and contributed to more than 12,000 albums sold independently.
His current album, “Ain’t Gonna Give Up!” is a rockin tribute to the success of his first album. For this project, Tom raised over $15,000 and went into the studio to record with a live band and award winning producer Gary Bolton at Strawberry Skys Studios in South Carolina. “I have always wanted to do an entire album with a live band and I thought I would take this opportunity to give fans a real treat.” Tom says.
His first single off the new album is entitled “Just For Today”. It is already receiving recognition on many internet, college and local radio stations. The hot new music video for the song can be seen on this site, various other internet sites, and cable & television video shows.
“Ain’t Gonna Give Up!” is jammed pack with music everyone can enjoy. It covers a wide musical universe including very hard hitting country and rock-n-roll tracks, beautiful and sentimental piano ballads as well as country blues. “I really focused on the lyrical content of this album as well as song production. I wanted to give my audience timeless, songs they could listen to again and again.” Tom says. Notable tracks on this album include “Dyin' For You”, “I Love Jesus”, "No Big Deal" and the title track “Ain’t Gonna Give Up”.
